This is my first real foray with WordPress. We actually use wp for our blog, but never really attempted to delve very deep into its full potential. We're now in the process of redesigning our main site in wp, and have bought a nice theme that we're working with. However, IE8 is having issues rendering the site properly. It seems to be pixilating the transparent PNGs that we're using on our homepage. The slider also hesitates when animating, and the alt and title tags don't appear in the main horizontal nav bar or social media links that we have in the header. Alt and title tags appear correctly in the footer, just not in the main nav menu or header area. In doing some research, I stumbled upon IE8s opacity issues with transparent PNGs and thought that might be the problem. However, searching for plugins that might solve the problem, Weins-IE-CSS3 solved the opacity issue but then it broke other parts of the theme, and we also got an error. I've seen some hacks referencing this problem but, since it's painfully obvious I'm not a developer, I hesitate to make any changes to code without first getting the advice of someone much smarter than myself. I've tried to copy and paste a hack once already, broke the theme, and our host had to save the day by resetting everything. Thankfully I didn't lose anything. Any help anyone can give would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!
