I developed a plugin that calls different Custom Posts. It works great: I see the options in the dashboard, I can add new articles and I can find the list of articles on the url 'personajes' , but when I try to call a list of taxonomy, tells me that finds nothing... Apologies in advance if my question is unclear (I'm having difficulty locating an answer from various plugin developers).

I am trying to allow my WP users (buddypress) to move media files they access on the front end of our site (e.g., we publish a page that includes embedded media items from our WP media library) into their individual media libraries (e.g., I select an image file and am given the option to add to my media folder).

I am very new to web development, so I understand if I am lacking the language to express the action/event I hope to learn how to implement via WP.

Hi! I'm no pro but the net is so full of info i'm managing pretty o.k. till now; but I can't find the solution to this:

When a user logs in during woocommerce checkout, their previous info is put in the checkout form. I made some custom fields (with WC Poor guy's swiss knife plugin) which also get saved with the user data. So far everything's cool! :)

But one custom field is a datepicker/date, and I don't need it updated with previous customer data when they log in, I want it empty with placeholder text and required to fill, like new users/guests get.

- Do I customize some file to not load that specific field when a user logs in? I have no idea where to find this, or if this is possible?

- Or do I add a function after the form is filled which just clears the field? Maybe this would be simpler? If so, I have no idea how to go about this and what would be the best place to put this?

I've been source searching but my abilities aren't that developed yet to pick up some things.

Just wondering if I am able to hook when a users meta has been updated, such as: when a users role is changed, I can get the username and do other things.

I have thought about adding a button that I can run after the role change, but would prefer just a function to hook into.

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for a solution to a really strange issue, I am facing since last 3 to 4 months. I am relatively new to wordpress (although I have a work experience of 3 years but that is in Java and PHP mostly). The problem, I am facing, is very weird to me and I am unable to find any solution so far.

I have wordpress installed on my server and it stops responding quite awkwardly. Whenever I try to access the website or dashboard, it loads fine first time and then I try to access another page or try to update any thing, it goes offline. I tried to figure out the issue and came to know that there were thousands of posts in wp_posts table with post_author = 0. I deleted those posts but these are still continuously adding.

I changed the database credentials, FTP details, wordpress login and scanned the files as well but nothing helped. Now it is getting worst even, I am trying to update few pages since last 3 to 4 hours but failed. It loads but when I try to save it goes offline and then I am even unable to access anything. That is a real torture to spend 5 hours on 15 minutes work.

I would really appreciate any help to fix this. I understand, website is hacked but I really do not know how to fix it. Looking for suggestions.

I am customising search page results for staff and customers.

I have created a private page, password protected, hidden to the public, and I want more information to display when staff use the search in this page.

If the public are using the search, on the non private page, I want to show less information.

My thoughts where if the page or page template is 'stock-managers', then display this, else then display that.

The above code is what I have setup so far... I'm wanting to pull back posts from my taxonomy (status-ba) that has 5 terms in it, I only want to pull back a certain 2 taxonomies (available & pending).

Currently it's only pulling back 'pending', I have a post with 'pending' and one with 'available' statuses, so it should be pulling back both.

What am I missing?

There is a problem however, the user id gets destroyed when the user goes through the logout process.

Does anyone know of a way I can use to resolve this?

Is there a way to add custom Google search results to a WordPress page like an RSS feed? I've asked around about this and many have pointed me to the Google CSE but I'm not sure that's the right solution? I want to embed the search results for a particular search query on my site. I'm not worried about diverting traffic from my site here as I simply want it to be as convenient as possible for my users. The site will be a travelog that includes resources for a particular location, one of which is a pre-populated search result page for a query like "Orlando news." Is it possible to just do this with a Google Alert? Is there a plugin that accomplishes this? My Google-fu has failed me. Thanks for your help!

I'm trying to open up my plugin so that I can also create extensions for it. My plugin generates an image, so I need to be able to pass the resource of the image to the extension plugin, which will continue to generate the image in some way, and then when it gets done, the main plugin will finish it and save it.

So I added an action at one point of the main plugin.

do_action('afift_after_write_text');

Which works. The action fires, and the function I created in the extension plugin fires when I hook it to that action.

But now I'm having a hard time passing the image resource to the extension plugin. My best try was to write it to the database first, and then reference that, but it rightly told me that it was a resource when it expected a string. Here's some (relevant) code.

I have a question for advanced developers.

I'm struggling to understand how I can load a javascript file for a specific widget that I'm working on.

Within the class of the widget I have the public function form( $instance ) {} that contains the fields of the widget.
I have two selectors and I want to show the second selector based on the first selector.
I've tested some simple selectors in my theme (with the js included and jquery) and it works.
But it seems that adding this lines

wp_enqueue_script('widget');

in

public function form( $instance ) {}

doesn't load the js files properly, and the "selector thing" doesn't work.

I tried registering and enqueueing widget.js in functions.php, but obviously it doesn't work because the selectors are in backend not frontend of wordpress.

My questions is not about how to show the second selector based on the first selector.

My question is how to load javascript in public function form( $instance ) {} ?
What is the best way to load custom javascript for a widget in Dashboard > Widgets ?
